It’s the real benefit that BIM offers when fully utilized… For you architects out there who want to and are able to recapture that master builder status, this is … you know, you have it. It’s right here. Don’t just use it for renderings. Use it for renderings – but use it for the data. Use it for the problems that it can solve ahead a time or they can alert you well ahead of time.

“When I’m interviewing somebody, we’ll show them what we do, but then at the end, we’ll actually challenge them to get a student version license and try to model, where do they live, whether it be an apartment or a house, and then we have them come back and present it to us. If they have passion when they present it, that’s what I’m looking for, and just the ability to learn and try something different.”

“Before, we had to strategize, divide the work, keep different portions of the design in different files so somebody could work on the sections and the other one could work on the plans, and hopefully we meet and talk to each other. The creation of Teamwork was just the solution to all this, where we could work together on the same model, in the same file.”

We have, for example, the entire island of Barbados modeled. We have most of New York City modeled. We have all of Toronto modeled. We have great chunks of London modeled, great chunks of Singapore modeled. I don’t know of any occasion when any of those models failed on us and part of it is because it’s just such a solid and simple software.
