We can work with Revit MEP or Revit Structural or Revit Architectural… Archicad was made to be open and that’s an important piece to us; and … when our engineers are using 2D, we work with Autocad. We have yet to find a file type that is problematic for us to work with.

“There’s this idea that you have to stay within the family, especially as it relates to Revit – and it’s somewhat true actually in the Revit world. Revit really likes to only work with Revit. But it’s not true in the BIM world. Archicad, one of the reasons we like it is that we can work with any file type. We can work with Revit MEP or Revit Structural or Revit Architectural. We can integrate that and we’re not spending necessarily a ton of time doing that and getting those things to speak to each other. Archicad was made to be open and that’s an important piece to us; and we can use a variety of other, files … when our engineers are using 2D, we work with Autocad. We have yet to find a file type that is problematic for us to work with.”
“And that aids in our desire to be open and collaborative with our design team. And we can fill in the pieces when we need to if we do have an engineer who’s using CAD, we can often model their scope when needed. But the ultimate goal is everybody’s working in BIM at the same time.”
