Model Energy Efficient Buildings with Archicad 18

BOSTON, October 20, 2014 – GRAPHISOFT North America will demonstrate Archicad 18 – the latest version of its industry-leading BIM software solution for architects and designers in booth #813 at this year’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in New Orleans, LA from October 21st through the 24th.

Archicad 18 features design workflows that support the sustainable design process. Architects can evaluate a building’s energy needs and use through Building Energy Modeling which is integrated directly into Archicad 18.
“Our longstanding commitment to sustainable design is best represented in the seamless integration of our building energy modeling solution into the building information model,” said Steve Benford, Managing Director, Graphisoft North America. “Using our solution, designers can generate an indicative energy footprint early in the process to inform decisions about energy use and ultimately result in more sustainable buildings.”
Archicad 18 provides built-in methods for determining energy values to advise and inform design decisions from the outset. Archicad’s built-in Energy Evaluation converts the BIM (Building Information Model) to a BEM (Building Energy Model) providing analysis of the existing model with integrated solutions, and instant performance reports. This functionality allows architects to utilize energy analysis to achieve optimum energy performance in their designs.
