Budapest, September 2, 2008 – The Miln house is but one design from the award winning stable of Architecture Page Henderson Ltd. Sitting in the company’s meeting room you cannot help but be impressed by a galleried display of award certificates from the NZIA and others that have been presented to David Page and his team over the years.
This contemporary beach front house won the 2007 Placemakers Supreme Award in the Tauranga Master Builders ‘House of the Year’ competition.
“Our brief for the Miln House was to design an open and uncluttered space while providing a robust home for a growing family. The living areas to the front of the dune top site maximize the views to the north of Mount Maunganui and south to Maketu, while allowing these areas to extend out to the dune and the beach beyond. We designed the entire home in Archicad,” says Greg Hughes of Architecture Page Henderson. “With Archicad you can get to a point of efficiency quite quickly,” continues Greg. “If I had a choice of CAD systems and a clean slate, I would choose Archicad every time. My decision comes down to the interface – it’s a lot more coherent and logical” concludes Greg.
