SIEBERT + TALAŠ is an international architecture firm based in Bratislava and Prague. Founded by Matej Siebert and Roman Talaš in 2002, the company has grown to a team of more than 70 with offices across Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
One of the leading practices in the region, SIEBERT + TALAŠ has delivered projects both large and small in the residential, office, hospitality, retail, logistics, and interior design sectors. The practice was a key design partner working with Benoy Architects and HB Reavis on the complex architecture and engineering scheme for the Nivy Centrum in central Bratislava.

Collaborative working with digital tools

With more than 25 years’ experience of working with Archicad, SIEBERT + TALAŠ has grown up with the software. Having implemented 3D modeling and BIM so early in the studio’s development, the practice has developed a broad knowledge and deep understanding of how to achieve the best results using digital tools.
Working collaboratively enables individuals to share their knowledge. It also helps the practice to consistently deliver exceptional work for clients while also meeting the team’s personal and company goals.
Meanwhile, Archicad’s straightforward interface and the practice’s smooth Archicad workflow means that time is spent on designing, rather than working out how to use the tools.

Archicad and BIM

Archicad workflows and One BIM

Organized around small project teams, SIEBERT + TALAŠ draws on its rich experience to understand early on whether a design idea is technically feasible.
The design team develops its concepts using Rhino, Grasshopper, and Archicad, and once modeled, the designs are brought into Twinmotion using the Archicad Direct Link plug-in to produce high-quality photorealistic renderings, panoramas, and videos.
All projects are set up identically so that people can move seamlessly between teams. Straightforward collaboration between architects, engineers, and contractors is enabled through Archicad workflows and OPEN BIM.
SIEBERT + TALAŠ created its One BIM concept, designed to ensure data accuracy with a single version of the truth held in Archicad.

The project

Striking central hub brings new life to Bratislava

One of the largest architecture and engineering schemes in the region, Nivy Centrum covers more than three hundred thousand square meters and includes one of the tallest buildings in Slovakia.
Nivy Centrum is a central hub combining an underground bus station, commercial buildings, and a spacious shopping mall, topped by the largest usable green roof in central Europe.
A team of BIM specialists handled the huge volume of data and maintained file compatibility for this challenging ten-year project.
Upgrades to Archicad meant new functionality which saved time and offered capabilities such as graphical overrides, helping the team to create multiple layouts quickly and easily.

Design for sustainability

In response to the global challenge of climate change, SIEBERT + TALAŠ aims to create building designs that are both functional and environmentally sustainable.
Nivy Centrum was recently awarded the BREEAM Communities Excellent certification, which recognizes and celebrates the sustainability of the entire project.
