BUDAPEST, September 29, 2016 – GRAPHISOFT, the leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) architectural software developer, recently hosted the Implementation Support Group (ISG) fall meeting, September 15-16 in Budapest, Hungary. GRAPHISOFT has been developing IFC standards since 1997 as a pioneer in IFC implementation.
The ISG is responsible for supporting the implementation and certification activities for buildingSMART’s open standards, primarily centered around Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and the BIM Collaboration Format (BCF), enabling the exchange of BIM data among different software products.
The main topics at the meeting were:
- buildingSMART task summaries;
- Worldwide standards relating to BIM;
- IFC and BCF roadmap;
- Discussion of IFC4 (latest IFC version) issues and implementation;
- Additional and proposed MVDs (IFC sub-sets/sub-standards).
The conference participants heard presentations from two guest speakers: Dávid Petri from KÖZTI, Hungary, who presented “First OPEN BIM Project in Hungary” and Christoph Eichler, ODE, who presented “IFC: Proposal for Modifications in the Context of the AUT BIM Standard.”
In addition to buildingSMART International, the following software vendors participated as well: Allplan, Autodesk, Asite, Bentley, BIMobject, BricSys, CADLine, DDS-CAD, Granlund, Graphisoft, IES, Progman, Solibri, Tekla, Trimble International (former Plancal) and Vectorworks.
