Graphisoft North America, Black Spectacles Announce Learning Partnership

Archicad course features a special offer for subscribers.

BOSTON, July 12, 2017 – GRAPHISOFT North America has partnered with online learning resource, Black Spectacles, to create Archicad for Beginners. The four-and-a-half-hour course teaches the basics of Archicad.

“Once again, Graphisoft North America demonstrates its commitment to supporting new users,” said Tracey Gatland, General Manager for GRAPHISOFT North America. “This Archicad course accelerates implementation of our powerful BIM tool for a newcomer, which is a win-win for current and future architects and designers.”

Led by Josh Bone, architect and BIM expert recognized for proficiency in technology integration, the easy-to-follow course shows how to create detailed 3D models quickly and efficiently.

“Black Spectacles is committed to providing a world-class online learning experience for architects, covering the profession’s most important digital tools,” added Marc Teer, Founder and CEO of Black Spectacles. “We’re thrilled to have partnered with Josh Bone and GRAPHISOFT to develop the first in a series of courses that will help architects learn how to use Archicad in practice.”

Beginning with simple navigation instruction, the course works through the software in a methodical manner that is easy to follow. In the first module, users learn how to draw walls, add stories, and place objects, columns and beams. Upon completion, course students gain familiarity with documentation in Archicad, as well as how to place labels, identify sections and elevations, and incorporate external file formats.

For a limited time, the course is available to new subscribers of Black Spectacles at their site with a 10% discount. Use code Archicad10 to activate the offer.

About Black Spectacles

Black Spectacles is an online learning platform for architects and designers that offers a software curriculum and an ARE® exam prep curriculum.

All the courses are available on demand, on any device with an internet connection, and are taught by practicing architects working at firms like SOM, Gensler, and Krueck + Sexton — some of the most celebrated firms in the world.

Our software courses are unique because many teach workflows between software, which is how architects and designers really work. Our AIA ARE Prep curriculum is the first of its kind — an exclusively online ARE prep curriculum, built in collaboration with the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Individual memberships are available on a monthly or annual recurring basis, and provide unlimited access to software tutorials or AIA ARE Prep tutorials, or both. Group memberships are also available for firms and academic institutions.

We believe that by democratizing software and ARE prep education, we can have a positive impact on advancing what is possible in architecture and design.
