Kirksey And Partners Architects Makes Archicad Their Standard

Innovative Firm Cites Graphisoft’s Virtual Building Concept as Key

San Francisco, CA – April 12, 1999
Kirksey And Partners Architects,
one of the most successful architecture and interior architecture firms
in the southern United States, today announced that it has made Archicad
its CAD standard with the purchase of 70 licenses from CADeshack,
Graphisoft’s Houston-based value-added reseller (VAR).
In an effort to significantly enhance its CAD productivity, the 84-person
firm – which is growing from 30 to 50 percent annually – will rely
heavily on Archicad’s teamwork capabilities to support its own innovative
and highly-successful team approach to specific projects.
“Our existing CAD environment, composed of CADVANCE and AutoCAD, simply
wasn’t capable of taking us in the direction we wanted to go. We needed a
solution that could handle every phase of design, collaboration and
documentation, and after an exhaustive evaluation, determined that
Archicad is that solution,” comments David Larrew, former CAD manager and
now head of Kirksey And Partners Architect’s Visualization Team.
Kirksey And Partners Architects is currently involved in the large-scale
revitalization of downtown Houston with several projects including the
complete renovation of the 21-story Travis Tower – 474,000-sq ft with a
new 10-level parking garage – and the 31-story One City Centre –
755,000-sq ft with a new 8-level parking garage.
Other local projects include One BriarLake Plaza — a new 20-story office
building in outer Houston — and the recently completed Student Center,
including a 1,000-seat auditorium, for Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.
“Given the extensive evaluation that Kirksey And Partners Architects
conducted, the decision to base their entire practice on Archicad is a
very meaningful endorsement,” comments Graphisoft U.S. President Tamás
Hajas. “The flexibility and level of support that Graphisoft in
conjunction with CADeshack is able to provide makes us the perfect fit
for their business.”
