Firms Sign Letter of Intent, Aim for Leadership Position in the Online Market
Budapest/Munich/Bensheim,
September 7, 2000 – Graphisoft
and Internet software developer
EBICON announced today that they
have signed a Letter of Intent
for an
Internet-based collaboration in
the architecture and building
industry. The companies will
integrate their technologies and
develop optimized software
solutions in order to gain
leadership position in this
booming market segment.
“Our technology is ideally
suited to work in an
Internet-based environment,”
said Vice President Johannes
Reischböck, managing director of
Graphisoft’s German subsidiary.
“Our aim is to provide the
optimal online solution for
architecture and the building
industry. To achieve that, we
are looking to form the right
alliances within the industry.
In EBICON, we have found a great
strategic partner with a
complementary technology.”
The planned cooperation
includes signing OEM (original
equipment manufacturer) and
marketing agreements. EBICON
will use Graphisoft’s GDL Object
Technology in its business
solutions while Graphisoft will
include EBICON’s Draw Internet
drawing tool in its product
portfolio. The first phase of
the joint activity will target
the architectural and facility
management segments. While the
parties plan to discuss the
possibility of formal business
agreements at a later time, the
present cooperation involves no
financial commitment.
EBICON was founded in
1999 and its headquarters are
based in Bensheim. The Internet
software
provider specializes in the
development of integrated and
scalable e-business

systems – is currently one of
the most efficient and
powerful
platforms for open Internet
strategies. The company has 25
