Leading architectural CAD software developer and the world’s largest consulting company launch next-generation integrated 3D model based facility management package
Budapest, October 19, 1999
Graphisoft and PricewaterhouseCoopers today
announced an agreement to jointly launch Graphisoft ArchiFM
2000.
The new facility management solution is the next step in Graphisoft’s strategy to extend the value of the comprehensive Virtual Building”! project data generated by Archicad software during the architectural design process. Developed by Graphisoft with professional advice from PricewaterhouseCoopers, ArchiFM 2000 derives all the necessary information from this integrated 3D model of the building, so it can automatically handle a much larger number of and much more accurate data than existing facility management programs, most of which use 2D blueprints as their point of departure.
This new concept offers property managers a higher return on their facility management investment than was previously thought possible. ArchiFM users will experience an exceptionally high level of productivity by exploiting the possibilities of Graphisoft’s intelligent object technology.
Graphisoft ArchiFM 2000 supports the efficient management of the elements, furnishings and fittings of industrial parks, office buildings, and other buildings that need regular maintenance. The software creates, maintains and presents the relational databases needed for property operation in a structured manner.
Under the contract between Graphisoft and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Graphisoft transfers exclusive rights to sell and support the solution in Hungary to PricewaterhouseCoopers. The two firms will cooperate in optimizing and tailoring the software to the needs of its target clientele: companies with large and medium-sized real estate portfolios. By using ArchiFM, these companies can make managing their real estate portfolios more transparent and can substantially improve their cost efficiency. The promotion will initially be centered on the Hungarian market, with the perspective of international expansion.
“We are very excited about this cooperation, as design-integrated facility management is one of the cornerstones of our strategy from 2000. The fact that a world renowned company such as PricewaterhouseCoopers perceives our new product as a serious business opportunity validates our strategy, and at the same time signals its application on a wider, international scale,” said Gábor Bojár, President and CEO of Graphisoft.
The two companies see their cooperation as a way of joining complementary forces on an emerging market segment with huge potential. “PricewaterhouseCoopers is not a software developer company, Graphisoft is not a property management consulting firm. The cooperation between the two organizations enjoying leading positions in their respective sectors follows from this as a matter of course,” said Dr. Károly Flaskay, managing director of Ingatlantanácsadó Kft. (Property Management Consulting Ltd.), which is part of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Group.
