[Archicad’s Teamwork] is great because you don’t have to be in the same room, the same building, the same continent. It’s a very robust software that manages this that lets people be in remote locations, if you want to, working on the same file together.

“One of the basic features of Archicad is called teamwork. That’s how you collaborate. So all of our projects, there’s always multiple people working on a project together and the way this works is that there’s a file. The file exists on a server and it’s just sitting over there on the server. Everybody logs into it and everybody’s working on different parts of it. It’s being updated every time you or anybody else hits send and receive. So I see what you just did, and everybody’s seeing what each other has done. So we’re working on the same thing all at one time, so there’s no risk of information being lost somewhere in some import/export process.”
“It’s also great because you don’t have to be in the same room, the same building, the same continent. It’s a very robust software that manages this that lets people be in remote locations, if you want to, working on the same file together. That’s a really, really important piece of this software, and again, how easy that works compared to what some other companies, how they work. But that electronic connectivity and intimacy of working on these files simultaneously is really, really important. “
