Green Building Studio empowers architects to conduct building energy analysis within the Virtual Building model
Newton, Mass. – November 10, 2004 – Building on its existing relationship with GeoPraxis, Graphisoft today announced that Archicad 9, the latest version of its Virtual Building modeling technology, will support GeoPraxis’ Green Building Studio (GBS) Web service. Building design professionals can now perform whole building energy analysis in Archicad 9’s robust and polished environment. The availability of GBS within Archicad also speeds Green Building LEED compliance.
“With today’s skyrocketing energy costs, analysis of a building’s energy efficiency is a valuable capability. Our users will really appreciate the power that the GeoPraxis solution will provide,” said Donald Henrich, Vice President and General Manager, Graphisoft U.S.
GBS, the core software from GeoPraxis, simplifies the design process of green buildings, linking three-dimensional building designs with whole building energy analysis. Using the Green Building XML (gbXML)-based add-on developed by GeoPraxis, architects can connect their Archicad-based projects with GBS to gain a clear and immediate understanding of the operational and energy implications of early design decisions.
“Our green building service cuts significant time from the building energy analysis processes, and speeds LEED compliance,” said John Kennedy, CEO, GeoPraxis. “Our seamless integration with Archicad 9 will deliver even greater benefits and cost-savings to the building design community.”
Archicad 9 is designed to support the way designers think and work on a day-to-day basis. Through its powerful new functionality, Archicad 9 improves productivity, and its polished workflow allows architectural firms the opportunity to compete more effectively and increase efficiency. Graphisoft’s Archicad 9 continues to demonstrate the company’s commitment to its clients and advancing the work of design professionals worldwide.
GBS for Archicad 9 will be available in December 2004 and can be downloaded from the Web at www.greenbuildingstudio.com.
