Graphisoft’s best selling architectural design software, Archicad 4.5, has won the 1994 MacUser Editorss Choice Award for the category “Best New CAD Software.” The award, also called the “Eddy Award,” is now in its 10th year, and recognizes the best Macintosh hardware and software products of the year.
Founded in Hungary in 1982, Graphisoft develops, sells and supports Archicad from its Budapest headquarters, and through its offices in Munich, San Francisco and Tokyo and distributors in 60 countries and 15 languages.
Graphisoft’s revenues grew an outstanding 64% in 1994 thanks to the release of Archicad version 4.5 in native mode on Apple’s Power Macintosh and to the continuing success of the new Windows version of Archicad.
Archicad has been named the “best architectural CADD” for five years in a row by the Boston Society of Architects. Builder Magazine recommends Archicad as one of only six CAD products for builders, and Architectural Record says, “Archicad is one of the few high-end packages designed from the ground up for Architecture. It shows.”
Archicad has already been recognized as one of the best design software by the architectural profession for years. This choice is now confirmed by one of the leading computer magazine. Moreover, this first prize designates Archicad as not only the best new architectural CAD application but for the best of all new CAD software on the Macintosh.
