Laurence Associates – Cornwall Planning, Architecture & Landscape Architecture is the winner of the Graphisoft UK’s Small Project of the Year category for The Eyebrid project.
The Eyebrid project reflects the local farming landscape, with a wildflower roof that joins with the meadow around the house.
Small Project of the Year – under £5 Million
Runner Up – Frame Architects
Project – New Build single residential dwelling
Frame Architects are the runners up for Graphisoft UK’s Small Project of the Year Award.
The project, a new build single residential dwelling in Kent, is located in a conservation area and the team used Archicad to help the client visualise the project and understand the design intent.
Medium Project of the Year – £5 million – £50 million
Winner – Anotherkind Architects
Project – Sherwood Observatory
The Sherwood Observatory by Anotherkind Architects has won Graphisoft UK’s Medium Project of the Year Award.
Constructed on top of a Victorian brick-built subterranean reservoir, the completed building will be home to a new Science Discovery Centre and Planetarium.
Archicad was pivotal to the project, from securing the commission, and modelling the existing building, through to aiding the complex construction.
Large Project of the Year – over £50 million
Winner – airc.digital
Project – MISK City – Al Mishrak, Riyadh
Misk City – Al Mishrak, Riyadh by airc.digital has won Large Project of the Year in the Graphisoft UK Awards.
The project was designed within Archicad and involved the landscaping of a new city that embraces pedestrian-only public spaces by restricting car traffic to basement levels. Landscape design has been done by FSDC and the architectural design by CRTKL.
airc.digital acted as BIM Manager for the landscape design and public spaces. The practice believes that this is the first time that Archicad has been used to design, manage and coordinate a large city-scale landscaping project.
Sustainable Project of the Year
Winner – Maber
Project – Beckingham Cadet Training Camp
Maber Architects Ltd’s Beckingham Cadet Training Camp has won Graphisoft UK’s Sustainable Project of the Year.
The project targeted a DREAM Excellent accreditation which focused the team’s efforts on minimising waste, providing biodiversity net gains of 30 per cent and championing lean design with the users’ welfare and comfort (using air tightness) in mind.
New Practice Project of the Year
Winner – Sow Space
Project – Ferry Road
Sow Space has won Graphisoft UK’s New Practice Project of the Year Award for its Ferry Road project.
The building was designed to Passivhaus principles and was modelled in 3D using Archicad.
In addition, walk-throughs in BIMx helped the client visualise the final outcome.
Interior Design Project of the Year
Winner – Bond Bryan
Project – The General Pharmaceutical Council, Canary Wharf
Bond Bryan’s project, The General Pharmaceutical Council, has won Graphisoft UK’s Interior Design Project of the Year.
Bond Bryan was enlisted to craft a design blueprint for the new venue for the GPhC.
The designs were modelled in Archicad, and the synergy between Archicad, Twinmotion and BIMx streamlined the workflow and supported communication with the client.
