Company acquires shares of building automation software manufacturer CETEC Vision AG – significant turnover growth is expected

Frankfurt/Budapest, December 16, 1999.
Following the purchase of the Bauplan Division of Wiechers & Partner in January 1999
and the takeover of the international HVAC-software company Cymap, Graphisoft
announced a minority participation in CETEC Vision AG. From these investments,
Graphisoft expects an additional sales increase of approximately 2 million Euros in 2000.

Through its participation in CETEC, Graphisoft has gained access to a dedicated distribution
channel for Graphisoft’s facility management solution, ArchiFM. Additional important
acquisitions are planned for 2000 that will advance Graphisoft’s Virtual Building™ concept.
Since 1990, the core competence of CETEC has been the operation, visualization,
documentation and automation of the process flows in integrated building control systems.
Its flagship product, Prisma, links all technical systems of a building, including fire, burglary,
danger and admission control; intercom alarms; video surveillance systems; and building
automation. With more than 50 employees, CETEC’s client list boasts such reputable firms as
BMW, Allianz and SAP.
“In addition to heating, ventilation and air conditioning, the Virtual Building model will now
encompass electric control systems,” says Gábor Bojár, president and CEO of Graphisoft.
“CETEC’s products fit optimally with Graphisoft’s solutions for the building industry and
contribute to our new facility management program, ArchiFM.”
“Graphisoft’s participation in CETEC as well as our distribution, marketing and R&D
agreements create a promising growth potential,” adds Peter Waneck, president and CEO of
CETEC. “We expect to gain further market share by mutually benefiting from each other’s
technology.”
In October of this year, Graphisoft launched ArchiFM, in cooperation with
PricewaterhouseCoopers. With the planned integration of Cymap’s HVAC technology and
CETEC’s building control systems, Graphisoft offers tools for the complete life of a building:
starting with the design process in Archicad to building maintenance with ArchiFM. The
products of third party manufacturers can also be merged via CETEC’s technology into the
Virtual Building model.
“In addition to our aggressive revenue plans, the strategic alliance with and the share
participation in CETEC, along with the acquisition of CYMAP, can result in significant new
growth and to the strengthening of our market position worldwide and particularly in
Germany,” explains Johannes Reischboeck, managing director of Graphisoft Germany and
member of the board of Graphisoft N.V.
