Budapest, May 16, 2008 – Graphisoft, the global leader in Virtual Building™ solutions, has announced that it is strengthening its position in Denmark in order better support the upcoming move to model based design mandated by the Danish Digital Building (Det Digitale Byggeri) initiative.
Graphisoft has appointed a 2nd distributor in Denmark, with its office at the IT University in Copenhagen. This is to strengthen sales and support capability for the dynamic and growing business in the Nordic region. “We have seen fantastic growth in the last 5 years in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Now it is Denmark’s turn to adopt Building Information Modeling”, said Stefan Larsson, Director of International Sales at Graphisoft. “I am convinced that Graphisoft Denmark will be successful as we see the strong demand for BIM and IFC compatible software in the Danish marketplace.”
The new distributor is backed by a joint venture from Scandinavia with 15 years of Archicad experience. Graphisoft Denmark will be led by Louise Holme Andersen, an architect who will run the company as country manager, in close cooperation with a team of educators and a Danish support team. They will lead the process to implement Archicad and Building Information Modeling in Danish architectural offices. “We are working on a fully localized version for the Danish market based on the findings in the Digital Building project”, said Louise Holme Andersen. “Full support for IFC – an international standard classification of building objects for intelligent models is included.”
