Aidea Leaps Forward in Global Architecture Ranking

Budapest, March 31, 2010 – GRAPHISOFT client Aidea Philippines, Inc. has been ranked No. 86 in the BD World Architecture (WA) Top 100 – a list of the world’s largest architectural firms as listed in the January 2010 edition of Building Design (BD), a London-based communications company exclusively devoted to architecture. Aidea jumped from the No. 103 spot in 2008 to No. 86 by the end of 2009.

BD commissioned research agency Camargue to survey more than 2,000 firms worldwide. The WA 100 is described as “the definitive survey in its field.” Firms are evaluated and ranked based on presence in the sector and region, as well as the number of architects employed. BD cited Aidea for its ability to weather the economic storm through its specialization in “hospitality, high-rise residential, offices, retail and corporate fit-out sectors.” They also noted Aidea’s projects in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Abelardo Tolentino, President and CEO of Aidea, cited the firm’s switch to Building Information Modeling (BIM) powered by Archicad several years ago as a key reason for its success. “BIM has made us more competitive globally by helping us to better conceptualize our designs, increase efficiency, and integrate our work with other consultants on any given design team,” he said.
