Kajima Chooses Graphisoft for Core CAD Development

Archicad Object Technology Key to Integrating Building Materials Database

Tokyo/Budapest, October 6, 1998

Kajima Corporation, one of the world’s largest construction companies, has selected Graphisoft’s Archicad to be the core CAD application for a new company-wide integrated building design system. In addition to a multi-license commitment to Archicad, Kajima has awarded Graphisoft a contract to develop special links between Archicad and Kajima’s building materials database.

After a four month selection process that included Autodesk’s Architectural Desktop, Kajima selected Archicad because of its robust and proven GDL object technology
as well as its integration and focus on building design.

“We have been AutoCAD-users for a long-time, and we first introduced
Archicad two years ago. We decided to begin standardizing on Archicad because it is a true object-based building simulator that integrates the 3D model, 2D drawings and properties data. This makes Archicad suitable for being the heart of our new, integrated expert system,” said Mr. Takagaki, Associate of Kajima Corporation.

“During the last two years, Graphisoft always helped us find the right
solution to our problems,” said Mr. Fukada, Manager of Kajima. “We chose Graphisoft not only because they have the best product but also based on our experience with their customer service.”

“We are honored to have the ongoing trust of Kajima,” says Gábor Bojár,
President of Graphisoft. “They appreciate our 15 years of experience developing
object-based CAD software and the thousands of parametric GDL objects available today.”

Archicad is an award-winning integrated 2D/3D CAD software. Used daily
by more than 50,000 architects and building designers worldwide, Archicad is the first and most widely used object-based architectural CAD software in the World. Graphisoft’s
Geometric Description Language (GDL) at the heart of Archicad was first developed by
Graphisoft in 1982 and has been continuously enhanced since. GDL makes intelligent objects possible by integrating 3D model information, 2D symbols and text based properties in an easy to use scripting environment.
