Graphisoft in China

Following its successful entry into the Japanese market last year, Hungary-based Graphisoft launched its Hong Kong subsidiary on July 1, 1996. The new subsidiary was established to promote Graphisoft’s flagship product Archicad, a very successful 2D/3D architectural design tool, and to organize its distribution in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea.
Graphisoft Hong Kong Limited starts with a staff of four, headed by Steve Cottingham, the former General Manager of Apple Computer’s outstandingly successful distributor in the Czech Republic.
«It is a logical first step into the Chinese market to establish an operation in Hong Kong,» says Gabor Bojar, President of Graphisoft. «Hong Kong is, however, more than the entrance gate to the People’s Republic of China; it is itself a very strong and promising market.
