Apple – Graphisoft Alliance


Apple Computer and Graphisoft R&D Co. Ltd., today announced a pan-European strategic marketing cooperation targeting the European Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) markets.
The aim of this cooperation is to reinforce Apple Computer’s and Graphisoft’s commitment to the European AEC markets and to increase business synergies between the two companies and provide targeted solutions to customers.
In addition to the main areas of market communication, synchronized product releases and channel development, Apple and Graphisoft will consider joint sponsorship of illustrative projects and educational programs throughout Europe.

Apple and Graphisoft agreed to assure high visibility for each other’s product line in all Apple and Graphisoft exhibitions and other major events targeting the AEC marketplace. Apple will use Graphisoft products to demonstrate innovative Apple technologies, such as QuickTime Virtual Reality.
As a sign of its ongoing commitment to the evolving Macintosh platform, Graphisoft successfully demonstrated Archicad running on the preliminary version of the Mac OS 8 (formally known as Copland) at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Jose, California in May 1996. Archicad is the award-winning CAD program designed for architectural and building professionals. Archicad is one of the very first applications compatible with the upcoming Mac OS 8.
