Archicad 6.0 Spurs US Sales to Record High

Worldwide Second Quarter Results Likely to Meet or Exceed Target

Budapest, Hungary – July 6, 1998
Graphisoft® (Frankfurt Neuer Markt:
GPH) announces that Archicad® 6.0 began shipping more than two weeks
ahead of schedule in the United States, Australia and Hong Kong spurring
record sales of new products and upgrades. Sales of Archicad in the
United States reached their highest level since the company first opened
its US office in 1989.
«We’re very proud of our development team for actually beating their
deadlines without sacrificing quality» says company president, Gábor
Bojár, of the June ship date. «Our beta testing indicated that Archicad
6.0 is robust and ready for release. Users were anxious to take advantage
of its hundreds of new features, and we were happy to give them the
opportunity earlier than announced.»
Archicad 6.0 is the most comprehensive upgrade to Archicad since its
launch in 1984. Its new features, including direct 3D editing, database
links, an open API, and a multitude of 2D drafting tools, address every
facet of architectural practice. Archicad 6.0 was released simultaneously
on Windows 95/NT and Mac OS.
«Archicad 6.0 represents a milestone for Graphisoft,» says Tamás Hajas,
president of Graphisoft U.S., Inc. «It is the ‘fruition’ of many efforts
begun as far back as our version 4.5: the virtual building, database
communications, working in multiple views and add-on customization.
Working with our users, we’ve developed each of these themes to create
the most comprehensive and mature Archicad upgrade ever.»
Gábor Bojár also stated that company revenues and profits for the
second quarter are expected to be in line with the company’s internal
projections and its history of consistent growth and stable
profitability. Final results for the company’s 1998 second quarter which
ended June 30 will be available in August.
