BIMcloud for educational users
Have you ever worked on a design with multiple colleagues? Graphisoft offers BIMcloud, free of charge, for educational users to use Archicad’s teamwork features for real-time collaboration.
Used by design firms and general contractors around the world, BIMcloud is a solution that can be accessed from anywhere via the Internet and allows multiple team members to work on projects simultaneously. Use the teamwork function to design group challenges and competitions with your friends, collaborate and lead to success!
How does it work?
With BIMcloud for EDU your project files are stored on a server in the cloud with automatic backups. Let Graphisoft set up your BIMcloud for you. Graphisoft takes care of the tedious teamwork project management, user creation, etc., and you can receive your folder and use the service as soon as the settings are complete.
You can access your project at any time via the Internet, except during server maintenance (usually 6 hours max.). We have two scheduled user and project maintenance periods/year, which all users are informed about 30 days prior.
Who can use it?
BIMcloud for EDU is a BIMcloud service for Archicad Education users. We provide services for university/vocational school/high school students and educators studying or teaching in AEC.
To use it, you must have an Educational license and install the latest version of Archicad Education.
Although it is possible to use BIMcloud for class assignments with educators and student groups, please contact us via our dedicated form at https://support.graphisoft.com if more than five people would like to register and use the service.
How to get started?
Do you meet all requirements? Please familiarize yourself with the flow of registration for this service and the role of participating members.
First, please register a team leader. Once we’ve completed the setup, you’ll receive an email with access information and an invitation link to send to other team members. Next, ask each team member to register and once your account is ready, teamwork work can begin!

Sign up for Students
Sign up with your team to bring your collaboration to the next level
If you have a course or a project where you would like to work in teams, make sure to sign up and start using Archicad Teamwork today with the help of BIMcloud for EDU.
As a Student you can:
- Form a Team
- Select a Team Leader
- The Team leader should sign up first through the Team Leader Form
- Get registered and receive a unique Team ID – this Team ID will be the identifier of your Project and Team on the Server and should not be changed.
- The Team Leader should share the Team ID with teammates, who can sign up through the Team Member Form where they use their Team ID as identification
- Get started with your team in your own BIMcloud Project
Team Member and Team Leader accounts receive reminders at the end of the semester to back up/save their files from BIMcloud. Those users who did not request access for another semester are deleted and their projects are archived.

Sign up as the leader of your group
Please select a team leader from your team who starts the registration. Please Share the Member sign up form with your team. They can use your unique team ID, to sign up and join your individual folder.

Sign up as a member of your group
Team Leaders get unique Team IDs after signing up– this will be their Folder Name on the server. Team Members use this Team ID during sign-up so that we can create the group appropriately.

As an Educator you can:
- Sign up for our service for free and use it throughout the semester
- Receive useful tips on project organization after your user has been created
- Formulate design groups in your course and invite them to join your team as team members

Administration: Graphisoft will take care of user administration and general Project Management for you.
Terms of use, notes
Please note that new registrations may not be accepted due to host server capacity limitations. Graphisoft offers BIMcloud for EDU access free of charge for educational users only. Personal data and project data uploaded to BIMcloud for EDU will not be passed on to third parties. While we always strive to ensure data security and permanent availability of BIMcloud for EDU, we do not guarantee availability and accept no liability for any loss due to unavailability. We will not be held responsible for any damages, data loss, or any other troubles or inconveniences caused by harmful substances such as computer viruses.
Server maintenance work will be notified to all project participants in advance by email. BIMcloud for EDU cannot be used during maintenance work. If you want to continue working, we recommend using a travel pack . Please refrain from work during the scheduled backup as the load will be concentrated on the server.
Scheduled maintenance: When performing maintenance, a notification email will be sent to all users.
