BIMcloud
BIMcloud 2024.3
In this version of BIMcloud, we introduce several new improvements for both SaaS and on-premises users:
We have enhanced BIMcloud’s account security. From now on, a commonly accepted password complexity will be required when creating a new password, similar to how it works with Graphisoft ID.
The reauthentication process has been improved to provide a smoother user experience. In cases where the user’s email address was previously entered during sign-in, the email address will now be automatically filled in or skipped entirely, eliminating unnecessary steps during future authentication processes.
SaaS only
As part of the ongoing transition to the new cloud-based BIMcloud licenses, we have updated the available functionalities in the BIMcloud Manager user interface.
Account administrators can no longer create, duplicate, import, or export users directly from the BIMcloud Manager. From now on, users can only be added by inviting them based on their Graphisoft IDs. Additionally, administrators can change the Graphisoft ID of already connected users.
On-premises only
We have updated the activation process for BIMcloud Basic, replacing the old credential-based method with the standard Graphisoft ID system for more secure and seamless activation. Learn more about this process at How to Activate BIMcloud Basic – Graphisoft Community
For on-premises users, this release also includes improvements from BIMcloud 2024.2, with significantly enhanced performance due to recent upgrades in the background calculations related to access and permission management.
Fixed issues
- BIMC-21733: We fixed a problem that could cause failed sign-in attempts for users due to permission issues.
- BIMC-14784: Password management is no longer available while the Graphisoft ID invitation is in pending status.
- BIMC-22323: We fixed an issue where deleted files still contributed to the local ‘Files’ folder size, despite no longer being visible on BIMcloud.
- BIMC-21728: We fixed an issue that prevented automatic LDAP synchronization from functioning properly.
- BIMC-21787, BIMC-21788: We introduced multiple security improvements to ensure user account and data safety.
- BIMC-15739: Resolved an issue where the activities export included all data, even when individual projects were selected.
- BIMC-16006: We added a new header for Private Network Access to prevent potential BIMcloud Server communication issues.
- BIMC-21650, BIMC-19968, BIMC-16063: We improved our error handling and feedback system to provide clearer messages about some potential BIMcloud malfunctions.
- BIMC-21845: We fixed an issue that prevented users from continuing or finishing the installation if the process was interrupted for a longer time.
- BIMC-19949: We improved the model server pairing process to make it seamless.
- BIMC-21846: We fixed a problem with the Notification Dashboard that could lead to performance issues on BIMcloud.
- BIMC-14277: Unnecessary invisible characters, such as trailing spaces, will no longer cause issues during the Graphisoft ID user invitation process.
- ECOS-8319: Help Center links during BIMcloud installation now direct users to the corresponding localized pages.
BIMcloud 2024.2
In this release we introduce a handful of new improvements for BIMcloud SaaS:
- Performance has been significantly improved thanks to recent enhancements in the background calculations related to access and permission management.
- To prevent them from getting locked out of BIMcloud, company administrators can no longer be disabled.
- In the case of cloud-based BIMcloud licenses, the “BIMcloud Software as a Service” suffix has been removed from the Device and License activity panels. From now on, only the device name is shown, for a clearer display.
Fixed issues
- BIMC-20314: BIMcloud Project / Library backups are no longer displayed incorrectly in “pending” status in the BIMcloud Manager’s user interface.
- BIMC-21522: We fixed an issue that caused BIMcloud Server Backup synchronization to fail in certain cases.
- BIMC-19869: BIMcloud no longer becomes unresponsive due to some heavy background processes.
- BIMC-21331: In the case of cloud-based BIMcloud licenses, the number of users to synchronize from Graphisoft ID company account has been increased significantly.
- BIMC-20505: The BIMx Web application’s download button is now correctly placed in all circumstances under the paragraph text.
- BIMC-15888: In case of the server’s unavailability, BIMcloud now gives a proper error message during the BIMcloud Project / Library import process.
BIMcloud 2024.1
SaaS only
Cloud licensing on BIMcloud will now support compatibility with earlier versions of Archicad and DDScad. Users can enable backward compatibility by switching from the “modern” to “legacy” authentication method. It’s important to note that enabling backward compatibility might reduce the security of user authentication – so users can control whether legacy authentication is enabled or disabled. (It is disabled by default.)
On-premises only
In BIMcloud version 2024.1, we have updated the BIMx component to deliver enhanced performance and introduce additional features.
The update brings several improvements, including:
- Significantly faster loading times
- Improved 3D performance for smoother navigation
- Enhanced navigation system
- Ability to measure in both 3D and on 2D layouts

- BIMC-19051: From now on, users don’t have to disconnect the active BIMcloud Server on the web interface before pairing a new one at the tray icon.
- BIMC-18728: Trying to log in with a disabled account now leads to a proper warning message.
- BIMC-17391: Oversized log files are no longer created in certain error cases.
