This Hotfix addresses visualization, modeling, and other miscellaneous issues. The fixes are listed in full detail below.

Visualization

  • Archicad now shows the correct warning message when attempting to use the AI Visualizer with an invalid license. (DEF-22169)
  • Shadow mapping now functions properly in axonometric views when using Physically Based Rendering. (DEF-22168)
  • Surfaces with alpha channel effects no longer appear see-through in 3D when Transparency is enabled. (DEF-22127)
  • We fixed an issue that caused translucent surfaces to lose their coloration while using Physically Based Rendering in 3D. (DEF-20286)

Modeling

  • Branches are now created correctly when connecting horizontal routes. (DEF-22204)
  • We fixed an issue where Distance Guide values reset after revisiting a previously completed field. (DEF-20313)
  • The relevant tooltips now appear when hovering over the bottom-left floor plan navigation icons. (DEF-20058)
  • Archicad no longer crashes when using the Alt+Shift shortcut to change the user origin. (DEF-10973)

Installation & Update

  • Archicad no longer prevents automatic screen locking on Windows. (DEF-20478)
  • We fixed an issue that caused Archicad to freeze during startup in certain situations. (DEF-21461)
  • We fixed an issue that caused language switching to malfunction on Japanese keyboards. (DEF-18838)

Project data & BIM

  • Files can now be opened when accessed from a network location. (DEF-21714)
  • Archicad no longer crashes due to missing view settings. (DEF-20107)

Documentation

  • Modifying Keynotes no longer triggers unnecessary drawing updates. (DEF-20255)

Libraries & Objects

  • Archicad no longer crashes when placing a Door or Window with Projected display while the Distance Guide is active. (DEF-20695)

Cosmetic & Translation

  • We fixed a translation issue in the CHI and TAI versions related to importing IDS files. (DEF-21629)
  • We fixed a typo in the TUR version’s Schedule settings. (DEF-21790)
  • We replaced some incorrect links in the SWE version’s Online Resources menu. (DEF-21952)
  • We fixed a translation issue in the SSA validation dialog of the CZE version. (DEF-22081)
  • The “Upscale Image” checkbox text is no longer cut off in the POL and FRA versions of the AI Visualizer interface. (DEF-22363)
  • We fixed a typo in the TAI version’s AI Visualizer interface. (DEF-22366)

This Update contains several improvements since the original release of Archicad 28. This package updates only Archicad and the installed Graphisoft Add-ons and Goodies. BIMcloud Basic and BIMcloud can be updated with a separate package, you can access the latest installer here.

To access the latest official Update for your Archicad, please use the “Check for Updates” command in the Archicad Help Menu.

Installation notes
  • The Update process will automatically search your computer for Archicad 28 (including MEP Modeler, EcoDesigner Star and all Graphisoft Add-ons).
  • Make sure you have administrator rights on the computer. Start the full installation process using an administrator account.
  • Make sure none of the Archicad components are modified (e.g. renamed).
  • If you have multiple copies of Archicad on your machine, then the installer will automatically find one copy. If you want to update a different instance, you can use the “Browse” button to locate it. You will need to run the installer multiple times to update each copy of Archicad.
