Archicad can generate a Structural Analytical Model based on the architectural model and Generation Rules. This structural model can be exported in SAF format – see https://saf.guide – which contains all the relevant data from the Structural Analytical Model.
To ensure SAF data exchange between Archicad and Analysis softwares, Archicad’s SAF Translator must be properly configured.
The following files help you set up the SAF Translator‘s Material and Profile Mapping in a more automatic way:
The SAF Material and Cross Section Catalog files contain Materials and Manufactured Cross Sections with the proper terminology straight from the Analysis application.
Use these files for setting up the Material and Profile Mapping settings to ensure proper data exchange.
Notes:
- The Cross Section catalog contains Manufactured Cross Sections only.
- Catalog files are in SAF (xlsx) format.
- We recommend using these SAF catalog files primarily for the SAF Export workflow.
How to use
Download SAF catalog file
Open File> Interoperability> SAF> SAF Translators …
Go to Export Translator > Material or Profile Mapping > Click on SAF Materials or SAF Cross Sections.
In the SAF Materials/Cross Sections dialog: click Import. Browse for the downloaded SAF catalog file.
The Catalog is imported into the SAF Export Translator.
