New product data technology

For MEP designing as part of BIM projects, access to accurate product data is important. In order to deliver the right data at the right time, DDScad has been optimized step by step for many years and adapted to the latest requirements regarding uniform information exchange. Our new product data technology has now reached a milestone: the first results are available in DDScad version 19.

What is the OPEN BIM product data technology?

The product library, based on a new technology, introduces greatly expanded component information and new functions. A wide range of properties and property sets can also be added to product data. This feature supports BIM managers in complying with component-related specifications from BIM execution plans (BEP) and exchange information requirements (EIR), ensuring smooth exchange among project participants. Advantages of the new product data mode include:

Convenient product data management

Search-and-replace and filter functions

Assignment of object properties

Modified user interface and new functions

Limitations in Experimental Mode

Please note that the new product data technology is still under development. We encourage you to try the experimental features, but some functionalities of the classic product data technology are not available.

Under certain circumstances, when using the experimental product data technology, DDScad may not achieve the same level of operational stability as in the classic product data mode. Please take these limitations into consideration before enabling the experimental technology. You can activate the new OPEN BIM product data technology before starting a new project, but once the project is running, it cannot be deactivated.
