BIMcloud is Graphisoft’s server-based co-authoring solution for hosting Archicad and MEP Designer Teamwork projects, libraries and related files, allowing teams to work together on the same BIM model simultaneously. It provides secure, centralized storage, versioning, and access control, helping distributed design teams maintain a single source of truth for every project.
- BIMcloud Basic is the free entry-level edition for core Archicad and MEP Designer Teamwork features, supporting projects and libraries for a single version on your own hardware.
- BIMcloud and BIMcloud SaaS (hosted by Graphisoft), add multi-version support, advanced roles and permissions, scalability, and greater control over external content access and management.
With BIMcloud, any number of team members can connect to the same Archicad and MEP Designer project, reserve elements, and send/receive changes in real time, even across different offices or remote locations, as well as track changes and compare models. This reduces file-based coordination overhead, minimizes version conflicts, and lets architects, engineers, and consultants collaborate on a single coherent model.
BIMcloud is designed as a secure co-authoring platform, supporting encrypted communication and granular user-, role-, and project-level permissions, so you can control who sees and edits what. With BIMcloud SaaS, external partners can be invited via secure accounts or links, enabling cross-disciplinary collaboration without exposing your entire internal network.
Yes. As long as you have Archicad or MEP Designer, your BIMcloud address, and a reliable internet connection, you can work on your Teamwork projects from home or another office. Your changes are sent to BIMcloud over the internet, allowing colleagues to see your updates as if you were in the same studio. Even without a continuous connection, you can keep working: offline mode, pre-reservation, and travel packages let you continue your tasks and sync your changes later when you reconnect.
You install BIMcloud Basic and BIMcloud with the free installer, and you “install” BIMcloud SaaS by setting up your cloud domain and subscription—but BIMcloud will not work as a design tool on its own without Archicad or MEP Designer.
