What is Redshift?
Redshift by Maxon is the world’s first fully GPU-accelerated biased rendering engine, now available as a Technology Preview for Archicad 25 SSA and Forward subscribers. Built to meet the specific demands of contemporary high-end production rendering, Redshift offers a suite of powerful tools tailored to support creative individuals and practices of every size. You’ll get the realistic, high-quality results of a CPU-based rendering engine in significantly less time.
System specifications: processor Intel i7-7800X (3.5GHz – 6 cores), 64GB of DDR4 memory, GPU NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 (24GB GDDR6)
What are the benefits of using Redshift?
Redshift utilizes your graphics card’s processing power to create photorealistic images remarkably faster than traditional rendering solutions thanks to powerful features like ‘Global Illumination,’ ‘Physical Sun and Sky,’ ‘Physically Correct Lights,’ ‘Denoiser,’ ‘Mesh Lights,’ and more! Please note, that quality and calculation speeds will vary depending on the scene, settings such as ‘Light adjustments’, ‘Ambient occlusion’ or ‘Sampling thresholds’, and your hardware’s capabilities.
Watch the video to learn about the most important rendering settings and surface adjustments you need to get the best results.
Redshift Everywhere
Redshift is the renderer of choice for industry-leading production studios around the world creating visual effects, motion graphics, and all types of visualization. Redshift is currently included as a Technology Preview in Archicad 25 with minor limitations. Click here for details.
